The analyses using the CMSSW framework for AOD or miniAOD begins with the creation of a EDAnalyzer (nanoAOD is basically a ROOT TTree). The EDAnalyzer is a code which you can use to save your TTree or Histograms. Here we will focus on EDAnalyzer's which is more usefull on analysis. However there are other options, for example: EDProducer, which is can be used to save a class or struct or ..., this is more used hard code on CMSSW (see more at this [[https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/CMSPublic/SWGuideEDProducer][twiki]]).
